What could be improved

i went to Newark Hospital with a foot problem, an operation was arranged to take place today, I I live in a village out of town I am disabled and have several health issues therefore had to enquire about hospital transport, it was looked into and I was to ring to find out if it would be available for me. on Monday morning I rang the given number and was told yes transport is arranged it will be a taxi and to e ready for half past 6 am. also transport home would be available for me as I hav to use a nebuliser for 20 mins also change a urostomy pouch as well as the usual morning jobs I got up at 5 30 am waited, waited, 7 30 Rang hospital told just to carry on waiting, it would no doubt turn up, 8.30 rang again, we will ring you back, 8 45 rang back you will have to make your own way here get here before 11 am. Rings local taxi co. 9 15 hospital ring again, op of and transport had never been booked. I am very, very angry, I was supposed to be having my foot in plaster for 6 weeks an had made ll the revelant arrangements , extra help in home etc, if this is the best Newark Hospital can offer I think it would be better closed down and our care left to people who know what they are doing,

Shall look into suing the hospital for all the undue stress they have put upon me

Wherever for clincial reasons a patient is unable to get to hospital for appointments and/or surgery, transport is arranged normally by ambulance transport or voluntary car service. If there is a problem with the normal transport arrangements then the hospital has a facility to use local contracted taxi companies.
