My mother died last year. She and my father had been cared for by my brother and sister-in-law for over 3 years. After my mother died my father rapidly went down hill to the point where he needed 24 hour care. I live in the south of England and last week visited my father in Herncliffe Care Home, Keighley, West Yorkshire, near to the home of my brother.
I am an ex social worker, my job being to find the most suitable care for elderly people being discharged from hospital. I can honestly say that Herncliffe Care Home stands head and shoulders above any other care home that I have been involved with.
The place is absolutely spotless, the food to a high standard and varied - but the most impressive aspect is the care given to my father. His needs are catered for in every single way. He is treated lovingly by each member of staff and I have come away feeling happy and content with complete confidence that his every need will be recognised and provided for.
