What I liked
What a fabulous place to receive treatment! Being ill or needing care and having to put that care in the hands of somebody else is scary enough. This place ticks all the boxes in every department.
They have provided me on my visits with helpful receptionists, a clean environment, clean waiting areas, bright, interesting pictures, a shop cafe area.
Very friendly anesthetists and nurses. And i could almost feel i was on holiday here (i wish that was the case)
I have met various consultants. One doctor is a very kind and genuine person. I am currently with another doctor and having met them and spoken to them about my problem and having had a biopsy already, they have been very caring, took great interest in my personal ideas and this has reassured me. If i continue with this hospital i would think it will provide me with everything i need to help me on the road to recovery.
I have been worrying a great deal about my problem and although my condition has not been treated yet so i can't comment on that, this hospital has taken a big part of that worry from my mind
The new grounds are superb, also. Just what Manchester required.
What could be improved
The only one point i would say may knock a point off is the telephone has not always been answered when i try to get through, and when it is is has been ringing a long time. I am aware they are busy, but i think it's a bit too informal. And maybe if they can't answer a call waiting message could go through? Just to let those who are ringing know they are onto the right number at least.
Also the smokers hanging round the doorway, i got a load of abuse last time i pointed out the "No Smoking" sign.
A modern hospital with 21st century surroundings loses part of it's appeal when a gang of dressing gown clad mothers-to-be are huddled up in a cloud of smoke next to the entrance.
I appreciate some people are ill so somewhere round the back out of sight and the way of non-smoking public could possibly be provided for in- patients.
To be fair though, the smoking situation seemed to have improved last time i visited.
Two minor flaws, wont stop me raving about this place whenever i get the chance!
"What a fabulous place to receive..."
