I was concerned about a blur that I could see in my vision. I visited my local Boots Opticians who believed it was a floater of some sort but recommended that I went to Moorfields A&E as they would be able to do a more in depth check.
We had to drive to London, as there was a bus replacement service on our line!, and were very lucky to find parking in a local street, as there are no other parking facilities close by (which is not down to the hospital). Perhaps the website could include some recommendations for best parking nearby?
The process to check in was quite straightforward and professional. Luckily the A&E was not to busy on this Saturday evening, although through the processes of seeing various people for initial checks, insertion of drops etc. you were never quite sure what was happening next, or in what timescales, but I am sure that this is to ensure that the consultants make the best use of their time with you.
Once we saw a member of staff they very professional, courteous and caring. The member of staff carefully explained what they were doing and gave a clear explanation of what the floaters were and gave helpful advice and a fact sheet to me. This reassured me no end.
I marked cleanliness as "fairly satisfied" as there was the odd empty cup and paper on the floor, but this is more down to the patients leaving them there rather than the staff! I could not rate "same sex accommodation" but it did not matter in A&E.
My brother in law had a detached retina recently and also attended Moorfields and their professionalism and care is evident.
I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and understanding. A great example of the NHS at its best.
"Fantastic Service and great staff"
