I got up at 7.15 and had a shower. I told staff. At 8.00 an assistant looked at the clock and said to me and the lady in the next bed "I wonder if there's time to give you a bowl for a wash before the doctor sees you?" Firstly I'm 54 and well educated and articulate. Secondly my husband was there because I was being discharged within the hour. Surely it would have been better to ask me if I'd had or wanted a wash? Rather than assume I hadn't and what if I'd refused a bowl for a wash? You can lead a horse to water!
