"Admitted to Bickleigh Ward with atrial flutter"

About: Derriford Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was admitted very quickly thanks to skilled ambulance staff and heroic A&E personnel, coping in very challenging circumstances and somehow staying cheerful and committed. I was treated very effectively in Bickleigh Ward. As well as delivering treatment with skill, they treated me like a human being and kept me informed. Ward staff were friendly and open and had time to chat to patients even though they were busy. I never felt institutionalised or dehumanised.

I was very impressed with the skill and high levels of professionalism on the part of everyone involved.
