"I was going to Southampton daily for..."

About: Southampton General Hospital

What I liked

I was going to Southampton daily for radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer. I was treated with extreme dignity and patience and most of all, with a sense of humour which I found very relaxing and made, what could have been a rather scarey experience, very tolerable. The staff on Lincac E were very caring and I couldn't have asked for better treatment.

What could be improved

A larger heater in the Lincac room, rather than a small fan heater, would be very helpful, especially as colder weather is approaching. It's a bit cold when you have to take your clothes off

Thanks for your comments, Linda.

Our radiotherapy staff agree that some of the treatment rooms are on the cooler side of the recommended limits, especially when patients are undressed. As a result of your feedback they will be monitoring the temperature again and investigating further improvements in addition to the fan heater.
