"Getting better but..."

About: Allerton Medical Centre

This surgery used to be far worse with poor opening hours and abrupt reception staff. Some of the GPs are too dismissive of your needs still however making you feel like number and not a patient. Time keeping seems to still be an issue. If I book.an appointment at a specific time it is usually for a reason i.e to gwtnto work for example. Being made to wait 40minutes past your slot is unacceptable.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you feel we have made some improvements - we have tried to offer more early appointments for those who need to see a GP before work. We have also introduced some longer patient slots for anyone with more complex needs so that there is more time for discussion with a GP. If you feel that an appointment of this type would be helpful, please contact me.

We always try to run to the planned appointment times and we do monitor where we have run late. Over the last year, if we have run late it has been unusual for us to have run more than about 10-15 minutes behind. Unfortunately if we have to respond to a patient who needs longer care at their appointment, it does have a knock-on effect to those who are waiting but I am sorry to hear that we have over-run by as much as 40 minutes.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experiences in more detail and would encourage you to ask for me the next time you are in the surgery or to give me a ring. Our conversation would be treated confidentially. Many thanks,

Lindsay Gollin, Business manager.
