What I liked

The consultant who I saw was really helpful and I have decided to get my treatment at the hospital only because he was very helpful. He was thoughful, apologetic and very calming.

What could be improved

Many things! This was my first visit and the appointment letter letter stated that the appointment could take upto 2 hours. Seeing as although the letter stated there was no parking on site, no alternate parking was mentioned on the letter. After calling the hospital who said that the Thistle hotel was the closest, I parked there realising that for 2 hours there would be a £5 charge. Which is fine, had i not been there for 3.5 hours and paid £8.90 instead! I was called in 15 minutes and seen student and sent to xray which was also done promptly. This process only took 45 minutes which left me feeling happy. However, I was then kept in the waiting room for 2 hours and 45 minutes! I feel this was inappropriate and the staff kept telling me "15 minutes". Luckily this was a later afternoon visit otherwise I would have had problems at work and luckily I don't have children otherwise (like other people in the waiting room) I would have had to leave to pick children up! logo

I am sorry to read that your appointment did not take place as you had expected, and I agree that being given unrealistic timescales was unhelfpul and annoying. We have recently undertaken a patient survey and will be using your feedback in addition to the survey results to consider where improvements may be required.
