Excellent staff in the morning and afternoon and the 2 2nd year students on shift that day couldn't have been more helpful. Morning staff nurse an afternoon staff nurse looking after me were also really kind and helpful and are a credit to the NHS. Surgical staff went the extra mile including the Surgeons, anaesthetist and their assistants, ODP, Nurses and Recovery staff. Only fault I can say was that certain staff members seemed quite rude and rushed me once it was nearing the end of thier shift and the nurse looking after me that evening was unfortunately on their dinner at the time so they didn't see what was happening and I didn't see them before I left so couldn't pass on my comments.
Bed was being washed and dried as I was sitting alongside it which I thought was rather unprofessional and the auxiliary cleaning the bed was quite rude and short to myself and the poor student who was trying her best to help me which was also really unprofessional. I don't think you should be working in this setting with that manner. Student should be supported not spoken to in a bad or rude manner. My partner also had difficulty in finding me as when they appeared on the ward to collect me they were told they had no-one by my name on the ward. They had to push 3 times before someone went to check. Sad ending to an excellent service overall. Hopefully this highlights these points to the ward to ensure it doesn't happen to others.
