"I didnt like anything. I have been..."

About: Basildon University Hospital

What I liked

I didnt like anything. I have been waiting for an operation since 29th April i was then given a date of 13th september, i arrived at 8am to the day surgery unit as requested on my letter, i was then taken to the ward and spoke with the surgeon and other specialist involved in my surgery, was then told to put on the gown and made ready for surgery, i then sat there for 5 hours watching the other patients go in and out for their surgeries and when it came to my turn just over 5 hours later a nurse called me into a private room to say they had ran out of theatre space and could not preform my surgery. I am Disgusted by the way i have been treated, i have since spent the last day trying to speak to someone about rearranging my surgery without any success, no one wants to speak to me and am being avoided like the plauge. I am being treated as tho i did not turn up or follow procedure which i did and it has caused me more stress and anxiety which i do not need.I beleive if they cannot perform the surgery you should be given a new date and time straight away before leaving not left without any proper answers and follow up information.

What could be improved

They should allow time slots to over run on surgery so that other people do not have to go through what i did, its a disgrace

Anything else?

Would not recommend this hospital at all, Save yourself the stress and worry and find a better one who can treat you with respect and make your treatment as stress free as possible as this one quite clearly has no idea what respect means!
