I was induced in May at 37 weeks due to concerns that my baby wasn't growing as he should. So as I 1st time mum I was very nervous as you can imagine. I arrived at M2 ward were I was advised my induction would be delayed due to the delivery suite being full. I was induced at 3.30pm were I was advised by the midwife that I was already 2cm dilated after that nothing really happened until after 6.30pm were extreme pain commenced and I felt I was on my way. My partner was advised to leave around 10pm as they advised nothing was going to happen today, so as a first time mum I felt I was in good hands and to listen to the professionals. From then on I was in extreme pain and I kept stressing to the midwife I have to be nearer to delivery in which her response was 'pessary pains' can be worse than labour pains and was palmed off with paracetamol, at this point it was gone midnight and nobody had examined me since 3.30pm that afternoon. I was advised to have a bath which I did unattended, when I got out of the bath my waters broke and I keeled over in extreme pain luckily I managed to unlock the door and shout for help, the next thing I am on the floor unconscious with midwifes around me panicking. If only they had listened to me... a women knows her body. I had hit my eye in the hard floor which resulted in a black eye that was immensely swollen for several weeks and was unsure if I had hurt my baby at this point as I was losing quite abit of blood. I was then checked and was fully dilated and rushed down to delivery where in 30 minutes my beautiful boy was delivered safely. I could not fault the midwife who delivered me in the delivery suite who was amazing and kept me sane. But with regards to the midwifes on M2 ward I felt disgusted and let down by them. For me to experience such a thing has left me scarred and I hope nobody else has to experience such a thing.
