"Waiting for a Gastroenterology Appointment"

My GP sent a referral to the above Department at the end of September and expedited it as urgent but when I phoned several times to inquire as to the status of my appointment the person who answered my calls were very unhelpful and dismissive telling me there is a 22 week wait and when I phoned this morning and pointed out that my GP had expedited the referral another unhelpful staff member said it is up to the specialist to decide who is urgent and when I asked them how could a specialist decide who is urgent when he or she hasn't seen me but just sees my details on a piece of paper and decides on the urgency of me being seen. I am in a lot of pain and suffering on a daily basis.
