What could be improved

I attended a clinic at Orsett hospital; Never having been there I was ask some routine questions at reception. One of which was married or single? Civil Partnership I replied. That's single then was the response. Despite my objecting to this I was told that there was no way to indicate that I was in a Civil Partnership. Given that the Civil Partnership is the only thing that confers next of kin rights on my partner (eg asking NHS about my condition, visiting rights, making decisions if necessary). I find it particularly concerning that the NHS would not register this relationship. You need to stop living in the dark ages.
