"Spire Bushey Hospital not for everyone!!!"

About: Spire Bushey Hospital

Very disappointed with this hospital!

I write this review for those who come through NHS just like me, not to expect too much, as I expected.

I will tell you my story to understand better what is happening in this hospital and how we are treated, and here I am referring to those through Nhs.

I have terrible abdominal pain and I have often come to the emergency, doctors though I had rambling appendix, but after I was seen by a surgeon I was told that it is not appendicitis and rather the colon and I have to do more investigations at colon such as colonoscopy. The GP doctor gave me a referral to Colorectal Surgery Clinic -Gi&Liver for more investigations and so I reached this hospital.

For the first time I can say that I was very pleased to welcome in this hospital by receptionists that are very kind and talked, but after that I waited for 2 hours and something to be seen by the consultant, to I asked one of the nurses what happened, I have 2 hours of waiting, to which the answer was 'those from private have priority first then those through Nhs like you and this consultant always is running late '... Well, finally came my turn to be seen by the consultant to whom I told the problem I have, to which they told me 'it's a long way to the colonoscopy, ok, for the beginning I'll give you to do the blood test and CT scan, and depending on the results we'll see what's going on and the next an appointment is within one month. Another painful month passed... Finally, when I got to the hospital for the second appointment, I was told by a nurse that 'the consultant is in the best behaviour' I was happy that I should not wait anymore 2 hours,...but not such things, and I had to wait for an hour and a half, again 'the consultant is running late'. People started agitating like I did, but finally come my turn, people around me started to tell me I'm lucky, who knows how long they have to expect. When I went into the office Dr told me everything was OK, I just could be constipated and that's it all and that I can go home. When I heard this I was almost crying and wondered how this is possible when I have terrible pain.

I was disappointed by his behaviour and I told him straight in front, now I see the difference between private and Nhs patients, and if I came through private then it was not normal, next time I came by private to see if it is all right, but very disinterested but at the same time very arrogant said goodbye.

In conclusion a very ugly and painful experience in this hospital and believe me never ever in my life I would not use my medical insurance.

We, people who come through Nhs, are not treated with dignity and there is no place for as in this hospital.

Is a shame what happened there!!!
