I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to ALL staff on ward 3 who I had the privilege to meet whilst an inpatient in the hospital from 04/09/2017 to 29/09/2017. The competency of all staff working on the ward whether this is nurses, HCA’s, cleaners, dieticians, phlebotomists or support workers was exceptional.
I am grateful for the high quality of care and attention administered throughout my stay. I was initially advised by the consultant I should expect to be admitted for three nights but due to not effectively responding to treatment this admission was extended to almost four weeks. The duration of my stay proved to have been difficult at times for my family and I, but it would have been much worse without the dedication and expertise of all staff on this ward.
There where stages throughout my admission when I became emotionally charged and I am grateful for how the staff had the ability to deal with the situation.
Nurses and HCA’s had the proven skill- set to respect the situation without too much comment and then would later acknowledge, listen, respect and show an understanding for my stresses/ needs/ health.
Ward 3 is without a doubt the best ward in Aintree University Hospital I have had the pleasure of being assigned to. All staff had the proven ability to recognise the patient is the first priority and are advocates for the best interests of the patient and always maintain patients dignity throughout treatment and care. As a patient it can be difficult to comprehend medical situations but from my observations and personal experience the team on ward 3 simplify/ translate terminology to ensure that patients understand their conditions, treatment and are involved in all medical decisions.
There are extensive attributes of all staff members which make them a credit to the NHS; particularly their communication skills, emotional stability, empathy, attention to detail and without a doubt their physical endurance. Also what is commendable about the staff is how they work exceptionally as a team as well as their professional relationships and rapport with patients.
The above are just a few attributes to say the least; I could compliment the team all day but its time I continue to regain my strength to get back to normality. Hopefully I never have to cross paths with ward 3 again but if I was ever to be re- admitted I would sincerely hope it would be to this ward.
Thank you for everything and making my extended hospital stay a pleasant experience. Your hard work and dedication is something Aintree University Hospital should be proud of.
I am writing this compliment as I run up and down the stairs WITHOUT anyone trying to stop me :)
