Disappointed. Relative admitted last week into Ward 101. Told to phone that evening to see where they were moved too. Tried both numbers for over 30 minutes - calls went unanswered. Went onto internet and got the number for the hospital switchboard, They tried alternative numbers and eventually got through to the ward. A nurse answered told me They had been moved to ward 110 and was given a telephone number for ward 110.
Called the number which was the receptionist number who unsurprisingly was not there as it was 9: 30pm but did have a voicemail message with 2 alternative numbers. Called both numbers for a further 20 minutes. Eventually got an answer only to be told this was not the correct ward - it worked in conjunction with the original ward.
Very frustrated by this time and called hospital switchboard again, Further 10 minutes, back and forth between switchboard and ward and eventually got through to the correct ward. I understand the issues and pressures around shortage of nursing staff. This experience would have been very distressing for an elderly person trying to get news of an unwell relative.
