"Parking charges at Emmersons Green"

About: Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre / General surgery Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre / Orthopaedics

(as the patient),

After a knee replacement in March 2016 I attended a follow up appointment in September.

I was not aware of any new parking rules and subsequently received a parking fine after being in the car park for 49 minutes - £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days.

At no point was I told or advised to register my car to obtain free parking.

I checked in at reception but was not advised by the receptionist which surely would have been helpful and expected.

There was nothing mentioning parking in my appointment letter (in fact there were forms missing, much to the annoyance of the physiotherapist who complained that everyone they had seen that day also had forms missing).

I had a very successful operation and excellent treatment at Emmersons Green treatment centre and would not hesitate to recommend them, but am very upset to suddenly be landed with a huge charge like this without being advised by letter or the staff upon arrival about parking.
