What could be improved

I have read the comment left by the poor family of the elderly gentleman who appears to have been so badly neglected whilst in Leominster Hospital, and can only add my own concerns.I was a patient in that place in March, 2009, and witnessed horrific neglect of the elderly, and lies to their visiting families with regard to their relative's appetite and eating. (A lady in the opposite bed to myself had Alzheimers, and had nearly all her food and drink left out of her reach. She couldn't remember to take it herself, and, at one point, was so thirsty she reached hold of a flower vase and drank the water from it until I shouted for a Nurse. My very elderly neighbour has just been admitted to that place this week. He was an independent, strong-willed gentleman only 7 days ago, but, today has been visited and found sitting "in a nappy", with "half a pill round his lips and the other half in his hand" and "a cold cup of tea near him". He was described by his family as being "totally out of it" on morphine.Is this the same man I was conversing with only 6 days ago? Sadly, after being admitted there, very much so.When I was a patient there, I discharged myself after only 6 days as I felt so unsafe whilst there, and was so sick at what I had witnessed. I don't think I would have ever got out alive otherwise.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take heed to what is going on in that place, especially with regard to the elderly patients. They all deserve the right to be treated properly and with respect and the deepest care.
