"My wife and I were extremely fortunate..."

What I liked

My wife and I were extremely fortunate to have had our baby daughter Skye in Cheltenham General. We had a very quick labour, made all the more pleasant by the delivery room we were allowed to use. The room was well equipped, including a birthing pool, to my wife's delight.

Our midwife was tremendous, her calm manner, coupled to her positive and professional air, were a real comfort. We were not hurried out of the room, allowed enough time to regain our composure (and have a kip). We were taken to a pleasant ward (Bibury), where the attentive staff and excellent facilities were evident at every step along the way. Skye had to stay in for a couple of days to have a bit of light therapy for Jaundice. The bit of time in the ward was very relaxed and gave us a nice quiet time to get to know our daughter, learning to bathe her, feed her etc.

What could be improved

The food was the only thing that was a bit disappointing. The taste appeared to have been stolen from all the ingredients.
