"Got to take the good with the bad I guess"

About: Nuffield Health, Derby Hospital

I came here privately through my health insurance. Everything was handled in a timely manner from consultation to the operation. The nurses are fabulous and they go out of their way to make you comfortable and ensure your needs are tended to. My consultant was brilliant and they explained everything to me throughout. The person who did my anaesthesia rammed the canulla into my hand (my veins are bad but they didn't bother using a torquinet to bring them up, felt like they were rushing) to the point where the nurse who took it out said that it was bent beyond belief. It took them 3 times to get my medication right (again, sorted by the nurses who were looking after me) and for some reason, the person in charge of my medicine didn't want to bother reading the repeat prescription I'd brought in with all the correct dosages on. To start with he gave me paracetamol, ibuprofen and codine, as they had only read the procedure I'd gone through at the top of my notes. These aren't much use when you're on tramadol, gabapentin and amitriptyline. When I pointed this out to one of the pharmacy staff who agreed that this medicine wasn't worth trying, the person came back again, seeming quite annoyed and decided to start reading my notes properly. I'd just come out of theatre so I wasn't in a brilliant state to be talking to people, couldn't they have just got my meds out the cupboard and read them?
