My father attended Branshome Minor Injuries Unit. He was not triaged by a medical practitioner but was left for 2 and a half hours before he was seen and advised that they couldn't treat him.
There had been a que of about 6 people before him but the delay included a tray of tea for the staff and a break of 40 minutes when the staff took their break all together.
Immediately upon being seen, the practitioner advised that they were unable to treat him and he should go to A and E where he sat for another 2 hours. What is the point on Minor Injuries? Perhaps a quick look at him by a Practitioner as he arrived would have saved an extended wait. My dad is in his 80s, had nothing to eat or drink since breakfast and finally arrived came home at 11pm having set of from home at 3pm following a fall which included numerous lacerations which required stitches. I feel a trip to the minor Injuries unit caused unnecessary delay in getting proper treatment but this would have been less problamatic with appropriate and timely processes.
