What I liked

Thank you to all staff in the Day Surgery from receptionist / nurses / assistants / anesthetist & Surgeon for their professional services and friendliness on my visit and operation 21/08/10.I was treated with the most respect and caring consideration during my visit. Full and detailed descriptions were explained during all operation procedures and nothing was left to question for the operation to my hand for Duputrens Disease {hardened lumps} .I was given pain relief tablets which I have had no cause to use during this smooth operation And am gaining progressive use of my left hand. Hand therapy is to follow and telephone appointment was received in a prompt manner .As you can see after this short duration I am typing with capitals already!!

What could be improved

As I taking warfarin tablets , I was informed that after I had ceased taken medication on the 18/8/10 before the operation ; I would be contacted by phone from the hospital department for the same on the evening of the 21st. I did not receive this call and had to follow -up personally.I rang the emergency number and was advised to continue with my Saturday dose of 5mg this I have done.

I feel this was the only lapse in the service.
