"MRI transferred to Chelmsford Hospital without..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

I arrived at Broomfield in plenty of time for a 9.00 MRI scan. I had, as advised arrived more than 20 minutes early to settle down ready for the scan, which was due to last 30-40 minutes, so being calm, relaxed and stress free was important.

At MRI reception I was told that my MRI was at the Chelmsford Hospital in Chelmsford town centre. They gave me a map and said I could still make the 9.00 appointment. I arrived shortly after 9.00, and had to complete their forms, the ones supplied for Broomfield being of no use. No time to settle down, I was anxious at the best of times, but the rush, the traffic, not knowing where I was going and rushing straight into MRI left me sweaty, breathing heavily and feeling sick (no breakfast allowed). The MRI was terminated after about 5 minutes and I was given cold water to help me feel better.

Up until now I have been impressed with Broomfield (having come from Basildon). Gross incompetence at Broomfield gave me all the information for them, absolutely nothing about Chelmsford. I was transferred to the Chelmsford because they do not have enough capacity at Broomfield.

So Broomfield have had to pay for a wasted private MRI, will have to book me another appointment to fit in with a review already booked, I have had a wasted morning and lost £3 parking at Broomfield. And I will have to go through all this again.

What a shambles and a waste of everybody's time and money.
