What I liked

My Nan was in ward 8 for over a week and received fantastic care from the dedicated nursing staff who were helpful, friendly, and gave consistency of care across the shifts.

The nursing team and HCA's in my opinion were professional, efficient with a fantastic sense of humour.

The nursing team, HCA's and Doctors were brillant in giving us the information we needed as well as providing reassurance and support during a difficult period whilst my nan settled in.

There was real team work between the medical and support teams (physio/occupational and social services teams).

What could be improved

More staff during the night shifts and greater prescence of staff on the floor during handover

Information given to patients families on dementia, some of the basics do's and dont's would be really helpful.

Televisions working within ward 8 and some easy to use instructions.

Anything else?

I know we should not add names, but recognition where its due, I would like to thank the Ward 8 staff nurses, who are great personalities, nothing was too much trouble and were all sensitive, professional and diligent in their duties
