"incredibly caring and kind"

About: Kelso Hospital

(as a relative),

My father recently died in Ward 2 of Kelso Community Hospital. I really feel I need to record my feelings of gratitude to Andrea and her team who looked after him, so well, for the three weeks or so before he died.

Throughout his time at Kelso we found the staff to be incredibly caring and kind. They were very honest with us about his condition and this really helped us to get used to the idea that he wouldn't be with us a lot longer.

The treatment he received in his last week was exceptional - nothing was too much trouble, and the high standard of care was consistent throughout the whole team that was looking after him. Everybody there showed him and us such kindness and thoughtfulness. We were able to say goodbye to him in our own time and our own way, in calm and peaceful surroundings.

It has been a very sad time, but also in some ways, very lovely and I really don't think that would have been the case if he had died in a bigger and busier hospital.

Thank you all so much.
