"Excellent service within NHS Fife"

About: Fife Community Services / Integrated Community Assessment and Support Service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a relative),

My father had a severe cellulitis in his leg and contacted NHS 24. He received a prompt appointment and was commenced on antibiotics. It became apparent that oral medication was not as effective as hoped so GP contacted Hospital at Home in West Fife to help with his care. The service he received was fantastic. The nursing and medical staff were excellent and very caring. He received IV antibiotics for a while and then was eventually stepped down to his own GP. He was delighted with the support from the whole team including his ongoing care from DNS for leg dressings and wanted to convey his thanks

Dear JCR74

Thank you for sharing your father's experience on Care Opinion. I am sorry to learn that he had symptoms of severe cellulitis and I am pleased that he is now on the mend. I do wish him well.

It is great to see positive feedback for the staff members involved in your father's care. I am sure my colleagues within NHS Fife will be delighted with your comments.

Your story has been tagged by the Care Opinion team to NHS 24 as you mentioned a call to our service which resulted in an appointment being made for your father to have face to face assessment. NHS 24 works closely with our partner Health Boards to ensure the most appropriate care for patients and I am pleased that his journey of care went well. This is the level of service we strive to achieve for all patients.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch. Should you wish to contact NHS 24 directly to provide any particular feedback, then I would be delighted to hear from you. I can be contacted on 0141 337 4582 or by email at patientaffairs@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

With best wishes to you both.

Shona
