(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with MS 11 years ago and due to the lack of nurse service until recently I have had to attend Queen Elizabeth hospital when I need to see an experienced nurse. Finally we get the service that we so deserve and I got my MS care transferred to Lanarkshire. Unfortunately the nurse who had more than 15 years experience has now left, which I'm sure is due to an increasing workload of over 1500 patients for 1 nurse. only to find out that the service is now replacing her with 2 nurses.

Dear linloo

Thank you for letting us know about your experience with the MS service. The previous MS nurse, who resigned in April, has been replaced in the interim by experienced nurses with supervision from the wider MS Service including MS Consultants and Specialist MS nurses from Glasgow. We have recently recruited two new MS Nurses who will start shortly, one of these post are being funded and supported in partnership with the MS Trust, a project that we have been working on with the trust since the beginning of the year. Whilst we recognise it is always an anxious time when people have a change in the nurse or doctor providing the care, we would encourage you to contact the service if you need any support meantime. We are always looking to enhance and improve our services and I am grateful that you have taken the time to contact us.
