"Such friendly and hardworking staff"

I went to the minor injuries department at Stratford hospital as I had a small bit of glass in my foot. I walked in and they were extremely busy. But the 2 nurses on duty didn't stop for one second. They saw each patient thoroughly and were very attentive to each one. I was to be booked in and the person on duty was very friendly I had to have an x ray for them to locate the glass in my foot. I hadn't been to the x-ray dept before so they guided me there. The person I saw on the X-ray dept was also very friendly and attentive when I explained my situation. I then went back to the minor injuries department and they studied my x rays as soon as I got back. I then was guided to the treatment room where a different nurse was very attentive, I explained what happened and how long the glass had been in my foot. They explained the x ray to me and the situation I was in. The glass was very small and quite deep in. They asked whether I would like them to numb around the wound and try to locate and extract the glass or if I would rather leave it to come out on its own. I asked for them to freeze around the foot and have a look. Through out this the nurse kept asking if I was ok and explaining what they could see/feel. They explained the difficulty to me of trying to get the very tiny bit of glass out when it's not quite at the surface. When they had finished they dressed my foot and explained all the after care necessary.

I couldn't thank the minor injuries staff enough: they were rushed off their feet and didn't get a moments break for the whole time I was there. They worked so hard for each patient and it was a lot friendlier and personal than any A&E visit I have been to and I was made to actually feel like I had done the right thing going to them rather than feeling like a nuisance.
