About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

My mother was a patient on this ward from 29th July to the 24th August. The quality of care was very impressive from nursing staff and the general care team. Although they were always busy they had time for a chat and a smile whenever they were with my mother. She loved it so much that she said it was like being on holiday! She was treated with dignity, respect and often genuine affection. I would also like to mention the high standard of cleanliness as I was in her room observing the cleaning team spending almost 15 minutes cleaning. Having spent time visiting my mother in another local hospital I know this is often not the case.

I only wish that consultants would realise that patients and their families deserve equal consideration and respect as too often they lack the ability to talk to people failing to recognise they have the right and intelligence to be fully involved in a discussion on the patient's condition.

Overall, I highly rate the QE.
