"The labour ward was amazing they never left my side"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

My Experience with the hospital has varied I've been in here a few days.

The antenatal ward was lovely, they all helped and cared for me as much as they could the only problem I had with them was the 3 days wait to get onto the labour ward.

The labour ward was amazing they never left my side explained everything to me and helped me with my daughter when I had just come back from surgery and was struggling. The postnatal ward have been lovely they've all helped me with any questions and given any advice needed, the only problem I had was with the staff in white. They was giving me the wrong advice for me and my baby but now the midwifes in blue have corrected there advice and given me as much help as I need.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our maternity service. I am sorry if you were caused any distress whilst waiting to be transferred to labour ward. If you want me to look into this further on your behalf then please contact me as I am more than happy to do this. It is good to hear that our midwives on labour ward were 'amazing' and on the midwives on the postnatal ward have answered all your questions. It would be good if you could email me directly with the dates that you stayed with us so that I can look into your concerns about receiving 'wrong advice'. Please accept our apologies if you were caused any distress by this.

We are holding a 'Whose Shoes' listening and engagement event on the 19th of October, it would be great to see you and your baby there! Please contact me directly for further information at:
