What I liked

Whole birthing experience was fantastic, I used the regular delivery suite in 2007 and thought the care received was good and the facilities used were functional but tired. However when using the newly opened birthing centre myself and husband found the facilities faultless, everything was clean, tidy and extremely homely.

The midwives that assisted myself during this experience were fantastic, everything was discussed with myself and husband and the whole approach to this birth from the midwives was very professional but extremely warm and friendly and they were a brilliant calming influence.

What could be improved

From my experience in the birthing centre I would not improve anything, the room itself was fantastic and the staff I met were fantastic.

Anything else?

The care that myself and husband received was unbelievably good, there was no rushing to move rooms, my husband was involved in everything - plenty of cups of tea and coffee to keep him happy!

Midwifery team that I experienced during my pregnancy, birth and after-care have all been brilliant, I would recommend Wythenshawe Hospital to any pregnant lady and especially to use the birthing centre.
