"Excellent care for dementia patient"
My 71 year old dad sadly developed quite rapid onset dementia. He had various other health issues, including blindness, depression, anxiety, heart problems, end stage kidney disease and diabetes. He was admitted into Bayview Ward, Stratheden Hospital (locked all male, older people's psychiatric ward) as his mental and physical decline was becoming very concerning.
The care he received on this ward was fantastic. All of the staff were very kind and patient and treated the patients with dignity and respect. My dad was very settled on the ward and as a family we knew he was in the best place given his dementia and worsening health.
Sadly my dad died suddenly whilst on the ward, however it was not a great surprise given his various health issues. I will be eternally grateful to all staff on the ward for all their kindness and help during the last few months of my dad's life. They really helped improve his quality of life during his last few months.
"Excellent dementia care"
