"A&E admission & transfer to Nayland ward"

About: Colchester General Hospital / General medicine

I was admited to A&E after an RTA and sustained a head injury and rib fracture, I spent 10 hours in A&E as needed overnight observation and had ct scans, X-rays and was thoroughly examined and cared for there, and put on a bed. My wife fetched me in hot food and hot drinks while I waiting for a ward bed. I was moved to nayland ward during the night and stayed there for 14 hours and had very good nursing care there. The housekeeper doing food and drink rounds was friendly, however the cleaner on the ward I observed was rude and disrespectful to other staff and to myself and other patients, and clearly was not happy in their work which was very evident. An example is they carelessly pushed patient lockers into patient beds when cleaning the floor which caused me great pain with a broken rib having the bed jolted which they were aware and plain ignored.
