"The high level of care and attention..."

About: Basildon University Hospital

What I liked

The high level of care and attention upon my emergency admission.

The prompt diagnosis and thereby the swift transition from MSU ward to Edith Cavell ward.

The excellent nursing care received on both wards.

The kindness and patience of the doctors and the ERCP team in thoroughly explaining the proceedures to be carried out and their complete reassurances throughout.

No ageism shown throughout my stay.

I am 83 years of age and was never made to feel 'at bottom of list,' and was treated with as much speed, respect and dignity as my fellow inpatients whose ages spanned from early 20s through to 90s.

The date for the follow up ultrasound scan has already been sent.

Anything else?

Although I was in dreadful pain and obviously worried upon admittance, the prompt diagnosis and high level of care and treatment I received ensured I was made comfortable at all times. I therefore cannot speak highly enough of all the medical and nursing teams involved during my treatment.

In conclusion I wish to extand my heratfelt thanks and gratitude to Basildon Hospital for all the medical and nursing care I received during my seven day hospitalisation. This applies especially to the nursing staff on the MSU ward and Edith Cavell ward, and also the consultant gastroenterologist and his medical staff on the ERCP team.
