"Inclusion have been prime support."

About: Inclusion Cambridgeshire

(as a service user),

I am 70 years old, and have had long periods of abstinence but sadly long periods of alcohol abuse. I was a binge drinker and found it difficult to avoid the short sharp binges which left me progressively unable to cope. I lost one job through alcohol and have 'left' before a dismissal which was on the cards, (I was too ashamed to ask for help. I went to AA and stayed sober for 12 years a vital time for my children ages 5&6 - 17&18yrs though those early years left them unconfident young people. I relapsed and lost my licence twice! They have children of their own, they are continually on guard in case I should drink again. It was much more, is more difficult to stay abstinent down & a considerable strain on us all.

My finances have always been dire as a result.

I have had a year free from alcohol now, I feel far better, but not safe yet. Inclusion have been prime support. Mo Webb my key worker has continually advised me, given me literature - mostly reminded me of the repercussions. I am not clear of fear, but it is easier for everybody around me. I am very grateful.

Thank you for your feedback and the positive account of the support Mo has given you whilst you have been on your recovery journey with Inclusion. It is always great to hear how individuals are doing in the service. We have a team of dedicated staff who strive to support people at the most vulnerable and difficult times in their lives.

I'm sure you have been told by Mo that we have friends and family support sessions on a Saturday across the county which your family members can attend for support and information should they wish to.

The Cambridge mill house Saturday morning meeting is the second Saturday of every month from 10.30 till 12.

351 Mill road

Cambridge.

Once again thank you for your kind words.
