Closing down the day centres

"Closing down the day centres"

About: Isle of Wight NHS PCT / Primary care mental health service

(as a carer),

I would like to know why all the day centres for people with mental health problems appear to be closing.

I feel it is a disgrace that those least able to be heard are facing such closures.

In my opinion this is a shame on the health service.

Day centres for people with mental health problems are funded by Isle of Wight Council. The Island's NHS has been involved in the day to day management of some of these centres. All public sector services are facing challenging times with reductions in budgets and we are very aware in the health service of the potential knock on effects of closure of these long established facilities.
