"Midwives were fantastic"

(as the patient),

I was overdue with my first baby, 42 weeks. The midwifes were fantastic. They supported me and my husband during our stay in the labour e. g. Having a bath. They didn't have a tens machine in the labour ward which should be included in the future. In the post natal ward we were taken care of nicely. Food, medication and due attention was given.

Thank you for taking the time to share you birth experience. It is always good to hear from women who feel that our midwives are 'fantastic' and felt that they were well supported. We welcome suggestions on how to improve our service so I will forward your comments to the Labour Ward Matron about the provision of TENS machines. Thank you.

I am pleased to say that as a direct result of you sharing your experience our Labour Ward Matron Sharon has ensured that a TENS machine is available for women.

I would be very pleased to see you and your baby at a ‘Whose Shoes’ listening and engagement event that we are holding at Oldham Civic Centre on the 19th of October.
