"Compassionate and caring"

My father passed away peacefully in the ICU at Torbay hospital recently. The unit and the team of staff looking after my father and other poorly patients was outstanding.

As a result of such care, compassion and consideration of our situation, I will always be grateful for the attention both my dad and the family had from start to finish.

We were consulted and considered every step of the way and kept informed of his care requirements at all times - so important to our understanding of procedures.

The unit itself is a lovely environment to be in given the circumstances, so peaceful, clean and accommodating. I certainly felt that my dad was very special to everyone who cared for him, as well as all the family members who had travelled many miles to be with him at the end of his life.
