"Cedar and Labour ward"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Maternity

I stayed at cedar ward for many weeks during my high risk pregnancy in 2014 and sometimes went to labour ward during complications I ended up giving birth to a healthy baby in December of that year thanks to the great service, patience, care and more from the team in these departments... in 2016 I gave birth to another one there without much complications (c-section) and the level of care was as per outstanding!! They were treated with respect and gave me more that respect back by making sure that I was comfortable enough to appreciate my pregnancies... I could write a book about all I have to say about these people at Basildon because they literally saved my life! God bless you all.

We are pleased that your recent experience of care at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was a good one. We will forward on your kind words to the maternity department.

Please remember that any woman who has given birth at Basildon University Hospital, no matter how long ago, is able to self-refer to our ‘birth afterthoughts service’.

Mums can contact the service to talk through their birth experience, ask general questions, or try to piece together those hazy hours spent in labour that seem impossible to recall.

Contact this service by calling ext 3458 or emailing birthafterthoughts@btuh.nhs.uk
