Well here I am again, last year I got a emergency operation at Hairmyres hospital and was left with a stoma. March this year I was sent to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for the reversal and the repair of 5 large hernias. ,
I checked in at the hospital and was met by my surgeon Mr Alani who introduced me to the nurses and anaesthetist staff that would be working with me. I was given an epidural and I neither felt nor remember a thing.
I woke up after theatre feeling good and was taken to High Dependency overnight and thereafter to Ward 9a. The staff were great, nothing was a problem to them. Staff Nurse Fiona (I think that was her name) always went above and beyond.
The staff were all amazing at keeping your spirits up with their jovial attitude and the surgeon Mr Alani, what can I say, this man has an amazing manner and attitude. Before surgery, Mr Alani explained everything to my wife and I and made us feel very comfortable about the operation and instilled great confidence in us. After surgery, Mr Alani told us what to expect during recovery and how things should progress. If anyone has Mr Alani as their surgeon, rest assured you're are in safe hands, I will be forever grateful to this gentleman, thank you to all staff who dealt with me during my stay at the queen Elizabeth university hospital
