"Waste of time came out crying"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital / Pain Management

I went to see a doctor at the pain clinic as I am in severe pain. When I went there the doctor had two women in the room my mother came with me as she is my support.when I told the doctor my problems the doctor didn't listen and interrupted me with every sentence. I have gynaecological problems. Instead of supporting me the doctor put me down the doctor said to me that at my weight I am never going to find a husband and the doctor told me all my problems are due to my weight which they are clearly not. The doctor made me feel extremely uncomfortable and ashamed I cried as the doctor really upset me and the doctor said they doesn't feel sorry for me as I am doing this to myself.

Their preference for women was skinny and the doctor put that on me. The doctor had a student Dr with them who is showing them the wrong way to treat patients full stop it has been 7 months and I have had no help from the doctor and no good outcomes from this which I am very disappointed about this. I have seen all the doctor's and they tell me the doctor should have not talk to me like that or mention things that don't contribute to my illnesses I saw the nurse who works with the doctor and they will not let my mother come in. as the doctor has not allowed it the doctor says I am old enough to talk for myself .I want my mother with me as she supports me with my illnesses. when I came out an hour later I was upset and disappointed the way I was treated and the doctor also wanted me to write down what I want to do with my life even though that has nothing to do with my illnesses it is 100% irrelevant

We were very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices website about your experiences within the pain service. It is very difficult to respond to the specific issues you have raised without being able to explore your concerns in more detail.

Jill Probert, Lead Nurse would like to offer you a face to face meeting to discuss all aspects of your care. Meetings between staff and patients are one of the approaches the Trust takes in responding to an expression of dissatisfaction or a complaint. The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) department act as the coordinating body to set up such a meeting. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about your experience.
