I was admitted to the EADU after seeing a Consultant in the Respiratory Clinic, who noted my symptoms were worsening and additional symptoms relating to spinal pathology had also developed.
I was very anxious, depressed and disappointed at having to be admitted.
My observations of the EADU while being an in-patient were as follows:
The Staff were cleanly and professionally presented.
The Reception Area of the Unit was like watching the Channel 4 News programme seeing all the professionals working together, looking at diagnostics, telephoning, discussions taking place - a real picture of professionals at work, really impressive.
The in-patient facilities in the Unit were immaculately clean.
The floor, beds, sinks, bins, etc were in superb order.
The standard of cleanliness and professionalism was very evident to anyone being admitted to the Unit or visiting the Unit.
I felt the vision for the EADU and the way it functioned was brilliant.
Something to be very proud of.
Also, the Privacy Badges on each bedside curtain was an excellent touch to patient care.
I was then transferred to Ward 12 for a short while but couldn't help making the comparison with the dynamic running of this EADU.
Thank you very much.
