I was referred to the breast care unit by my GP for a lump in my breast. I got an appointment within 2 weeks. All the staff at the clinic that I saw (2 doctors, a radiologist and 2 nurses) were absolutely amazing -
I was very anxious about the cause of my lump and the procedures I may need to have, but they all immediately put me at ease. I was seen first by a lovely doctor and nurse and examined, then I had a mammogram. The radiologist was so sensitive when placing me against the machine and explaining what was going to happen. I was finally seen by another lovely doctor and nurse for an ultrasound and cyst drainage - all in less than an hour. I cannot thank them all enough for their expertise, utmost professionalism, dedication, humanity and humour - all so central when patients are feeling anxious and vulnerable. They all do an incredible job and we are so lucky to have this service in Torbay.
