Recently visited the hospital for an outpatient appointment in the chip stead clinic - I was welcomed 3 separate times by a nurse, a receptionist and then a healthcare assistant. The healthcare assistant did my blood pressure and was very friendly and polite. The clinic was running almost an hour late, but I would like to make clear that this is not a complaint - the doctor I see is always extremely thorough and you never leave thinking it was rushed; I would always prefer this is the case instead of appointments being rushed. I was offered hot and cold drinks and was kept updated and the nurses could not have apologised more despite it not being their fault. I am more than happy to wait, some people forget how lucky we are in this country to even be able to see a consultant so regularly. In fact I suggested one of the healthcare assistants go and have a seat and relax as there wasn't anything else he could have done for us! thank you again East Surrey Hospital.
