Unfortunately very disappointed. Would love to praise this hospital and it's staff for their hard work, but after hearing that the didn't know if my grandmother had eaten (she has dementia and needs help or at least encouragement ), I am deeply upset that in the UK we can't get to grips with basic care and needs on this ward. Luckily I visited at lunchtime, where I helped her eat something and drink to quench her thirst (rather than a cold cup of tea that had been there goodness how long). 2 days previous she was left sat in a chair unable to ask for help. She was crying. I have never seen her cry before. She's was confused, in pain and I would expect thirsty and hungry. Not acceptable. The staff looked right through me when I went to the desk to ask about how long she would be in and what to expect with regards to the recovery process of her new hip. Severe improvements needed here I'm afraid to have to write. I understand the NHS are understaffed. I don't understand how we've got a process that is simply that.. Just a process. Please let our elderly be comfortable, and certainly not left starving
