What I liked
The staff were very patient, kind and approachable.
The ward was clean and quiet.
The 3 anaesthatists who came to see me at the start of their shifts were very good and explained everything to me.
What could be improved
Waiting for operation - I waited 20 hours for my operation as I was bumped off the lists for higher priority patients.
After 15 hours at 10pm of nil by mouth I was finally allowed something to eat but the only food offered to me was 2 biscuits and a yoghurt (that I couldn't eat as it tasted off). The shops were closed and I couldn't have a visitor at that time so I couldn't get anything else. My blood glucose levels drop significantly (headaches, confusion, shaking hands etc) if I don't eat a snack every 4 hours so this was very hard for me.
I had trouble understanding the nurse when she explained my medication.
Out of the 3 blood pressure machines that were used on me, only 1 worked properly.
"The staff were very patient, kind ..."
