"I was unlucky enough to have spent ..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

What I liked

I was unlucky enough to have spent over a week as a visitor to my daughter in the trauma ward

last summer.

I was in attendance for at least eight hours a day and saw treatment by the nurses

in particular to the elderly patients on this ward the like i have never seen.

I never thought I would see such lack of dignity shown to elderly women by nurses in this country.

I was not suprised to read a report on this very subject recently, an utter discrace

What could be improved

Clearly the the nurses were on the whole agency workers who had no real feeling for the patients or the work, the age of dedicated caring nursing has gone.

It is without doubt a cultural educational problem.
