"A Trip to Minor Injuries"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

Whilst visiting a relative on June 20th I actually tripped up on the kerb approaching the Richard Salt unit and ended up a patient myself. Immediately I fell I was surrounded by concerned staff from a number of disciplines who summoned a wheel chair and I was whisked off to the Minor Injuries Unit where I was seen in under one hour which considering the waiting area was fairly full was excellent. Pity we cannot mention names in a review but the staff member who saw me was thorough, courteous and very professional. My injuries were superficial abrasions to my hand , arms and head. I was discharged after the injuries were cleaned and dressed and I was given a Tetanus injection. At times when staff are too easily criticised could I say that my experience was that the care shown was excellent. Well done and thank you.

Dear Mr Williams,

I am sorry to hear that you had a fall, whilst visiting a relative; however I would like to thank you for taking the time to post your comments, regarding your treatment in the Minor Injuries Unit at Good Hope Hospital.

It is lovely to read such positive comments and how the Trust's staff came to your assistance.

I am very pleased that you had such a good patient experience.

I shall forward your posting to the Senior Management Team for Accident & Emergency and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

Best wishes

Jenny Langham

Patient Services Officer
