"V R E Clinic detatched retina"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

From first arriving early at City road the reception staff all very friendly and helpful , as were the admin staff who took my details and booked me in , Then we have the nurses who put in the eye drops and check you over, they talk to you and are happy in their work ,very reassuring..

Then we have the Doctors / Surgeons , who explain what has happened and how to deal with it .I was a bit apprehensive about the opp being under local anaesthetic the anaesthetist explained what was going to happen and that I wouldn't feel a thing. I didn't it was an amazing experience . The Surgeon spoke to me during the opp telling me what was happening and all the theatre staff were very professional, the anaesthetist came to see me after the opp just to see if I was ok..... I didn't feel a thing.

Every one I met there was cheery and happy right down to the porter who wheeled me back to the recovery ward .

Of course there is a lot of waiting about but they have a lot of people to process and a lot of complex procedures to deal with. And is it worth it , yes by God it is .

THIS IS THE N H S AT ITS VERY VERY BEST
